Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) -- Purchasing (Buying) Questions

Below you will find questions and answers for common problems, and emails that we have received from drivers. Simple click on the Question (Blue Link), and you will be taken to that question area.

Q-1: I just completed paying for DDL using PayPal. How long will it take to receive my ActivationCode?

Q-2: It has been over 48 hours and I still have not received my ActivationCode, What is wrong?

Q-3: I received my ActivationCode and tried entering it in, however the program still says it failed, What is going on?

Q-4: I purchased my copy of Drivers Daily Log software from a driver at a truck stop, After just downloading and Installing the latest version, the software is coming up to XX days remaining on the trial version. I have reentered the ActivationCode and it still says "Registration Failed, This software is not Registered".  How do I re-activate my software?

Q-5: I paid $50.00 for the "LITE" version and now my print module does not work, What happen?

Q-6: I can not get the credit card to go thru, is there another way to pay?

Q-7: I paid for DDL several years ago do I have to pay every year?

Q-8: I paid for DDL and now when i ask for a 'NEW' Activation Code, the email I received said I have used my three (3) 'NEW' activations, and would have to re-purchase DDL, I thought I would receive unlimited copies?

Q-9: Can I get an extension to look at the software a few more days, before I buy it?


Q-1: I just completed paying for DDL using PayPal. How long will it take to receive my ActivationCode?

A: It can take up to 48 hours to receive back an ActivationCode, Normally this is well with in 12 hours from time we receive the payment. Please make sure you have completed the other 3 steps needed to complete the purchase.

Step #1 is to re-download and install the latest version, this will change your INSTALLATIONID  number so do this first. This must be done to ensure you have the latest software. (Running out-of-date software can get you big fines and being placed out of service).  Update every few months to stay current. Updates are FREE.

Step #2 (Done if you have Paid and received an Order Transaction number (PAYPAL), Print and save this, it will be needed in Step #4.

Step #3 You will need to put our email address in your email address book, or safe list, failure to do this step will result in us being unable to send your activation code. Most email servers will block email from us (HOTMAIL, MSN, YAHOO, AOL, SBCGLOBAL, EXCITE, will for sure)  Add the following frbjorklund@driversdailylog.com if you have not received an email within 12 hours from us, your email server is blocking us,  and you will need to fix your email, before we can re-issue an activation code.  Safe yourself time, by doing this first.

Step #4 Complete the "Request for Activation Code Form (You will not have a DDL number as it will be issued on the email you will receive with your Activation code.

You need to include your InstallationID Code number in, or we will not be able to issue an Activation code as it is tried to the InstallationID number. It can take  even longer as we will have to email you to send the InstallationID number 

DO NOT RE-DOWNLOAD OR DELETE DDL once you have sent in the Request for Activation Code form, or your InstallationID number will change and the ActivationCode we issue will fail. In this case you will need to Complete a new "Request for Activation Code form, before a new Activation Code can be issued. ue an ActivationCode.

Q-2: It has been over 48 hours and I still have not received my ActivationCode, What is wrong?

A: Most likely your not receiving our email, either your email server or client is filtering it as junk, or trash. Open your email account and check the junk folder/trash folder to see if their is an email from frbjorklund@driversdailylog.com if so the click on it to open it. Make sure you SAVE and PRINT, this email as you will need the information it contains about your ActivationCode and DDL ID number for support. Saving it to your hard disk is not good enough, as you can not recover it when your system goes down.

Or, your email address you provided, is bad and we could not send the ActivationCode, if you provided a phone number we will attempted to call you. If both ways fail, then we will mail you the ActivationCode in the US Mail, this will take several days to a week.  Check your email closely, provide a 2nd email address if you have one.

    Or, you did not provide your InstallationID as required, and we are waiting on you to email it, we can not generate an ActivationCode with out it. We will attempt to email you for it, simple click the reply and send it to us.

Q-3: I received my ActivationCode and tried entering it in, however the program still says it failed, What is going on?

A: There are several reasons this can happen:

    #1 is most likely!.

1. Your InstallationID number has changed! Verified the InstallationID from this email with what is on the computer. Check closely as it may have only changed 1 or 2 numbers. If they do not match, you will need to complete " Request for Activation Code Form" from our web site. We must have the InstallationID number from what is on the computer right now. Any time this number changes a new Activation Code will be needed. Complete a "Request for Activation Code Form" on our web site.

 (YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THIS NUMBER)

Reason why it might have changed: After you provided the InstallationID number, you download and Installed the latest version, this changed your InstallationID number, the ActivationCode we provided will not work. This is not a 'NEW'  activation, but a reactivation so it will not count against your account, you will still need to complete the "Request for Activation form" on our web site, before we can issue a new ActivationCode. 

2. This is not the same computer you provided the InstallationID number for. Each computer will have a different InstallationID number, that can not be changed, or deleted. You will need to complete a "Request for Activation Code form' on our web site.  with the new InstallationID number. If this is a different computer, you will have used your 2nd ActivationCode allowed. So make sure you are providing the right InstallationID number for the right computer.

3. You are not entering the ActivationCode correctly.

The ActivationCode is case aware, Please read the email carefully as it will explain if you need a number like 0 or a letter like O, same as the number 1 or the letter I. All letters should be in CAP, just like the email.  Make sure you put in the hypen (-) it is required.

Q-4: I purchased my copy of Drivers Daily Log software from a driver at a truck stop, After just downloading and Installing the latest version, the software is coming up to XX days remaining on the trial version. I have reentered the ActivationCode and it still says "Registration Failed, This software is not Registered".  How do I re-activate my software?

A: The ActivationCode you listed is a hacked code, or does not match the InstallationID showing on the computer, you will need to purchase DDL from us, Complete  (all information) a 'Request for Activation Code Form" from our main web site at http://www.driversdailylog.com, or email us your Customer ID/DDL ID number that was issued, and, or your order confirmation # issued when you purchased DDL. If you do not have either then you will need to purchased DDL from the web site, before we will issue a "Full" license. Each computer has it's own InstallationID code which we track and verify to whom the software is registered to. If you purchased the hacked software on the road, then you were taken for your money, as we do not sell, nor do we have any driver (other than Bruce Luebke) authorized to sell DDL at truck stops. You will always get a receipt and an email from us (Drivers Daily Log) confirming your InstallationID and ActivationCode along with a DDL ID number (old customers received a Customer ID number). You must Print and Save this number for Customer Support and to receive an Activation or Re-Activation Code.

Q-5: I paid $50.00 for the "LITE" version and now my print module does not work, What happen?

A: The "LITE" version is made to do duty status only, and will not do any of the print modules, You can print using only our classic logor our OCR log. If you need a print module, you will need to paid the $50.00 Update fee, this can be done by credit card, by click on the Buy Online now button, You need to complete all 4 steps again. You will need to provide your DDL ID number or Customer ID number, so we can locate your account. If we can not locate your account only a 'Lite' version code will be issued. You can Update to 'Full' at any time and no lost of data will occur. Remember to use the Full Update after you receive you code or the software can go back to 'Lite' version, as each have a different InstallationID number.

Q-6: I can not get the credit card to go thru, is there another way to pay?

A: Yes, you can snail mail your completed registration page and a check, or money order. Print the completed registration page and you will find the address where to mail it to on this printed page. This can take up to 14 days turn around, so make sure and send it before your trial copy expires. We can not do it over the phone. If you provide your email, we will send the ActivationCode, if not we will send back by snail mail.

Q-7: I paid for DDL several years ago do I have to pay every year?

A: No, the only time you would have to re-purchase DDL is if one of the follow occurs:

    1. You use three (3) 'New' Activations (see FAQ Reactivation or New Activations to see what is consider NEW).  There is no time limit. 

Re-Activations are free for the life of the computer DDL is registered on. No limit as to how many times, or how often the same computer can be re-activated.

    2.  You can not provide proof of purchasing DDL software. You will need either your DDL ID number (old customers will have a Customer ID number) assigned to you in the email we sent to you when you purchased DDL. In this email we ask you to PRINT and SAVE this email as you will need it for Customer Support. Or you will need your Order number from if you used SWREG to purchased DDL, or your Transaction number if you used PayPal to purchased DDL.

Q-8: I paid for DDL and now when i ask for a 'NEW' Activation Code, the email I received said I have used my three (3) 'NEW' activations, and would have to re-purchase DDL, I thought I would receive unlimited copies?

A: Under our License Policy we grant the user three (3) "New" copies of DDL that can be used any way the user wants. (Please see the FAQ for Activations and Reactivation to learn what is consider 'NEW' or a Re-Activation). One three (3) "NEW" activations have been issued, than a user is required to re-purchase the software at the full amount to receive a "NEW" ActivationCode. We reserve the right to change or modify this policy as needed. Customers that purchased the $25.00 backup copy of DDL will receive four (4) "NEW" Activations. When we issue any "NEW" Activation Codes we will state in the email you receive from us 1 of 3 Activations used, 2 of 3 Activations used, and 3 of 3 Activations used "BE AWARE" Be Aware is to let you know you have used your 3rd and final "NEW" Activation. If you need a "NEW" Activation please visit our web site and complete all four steps for a new purchase. a new DDL ID will be issued and you start out with three (3) again.

Q-9: Can I get an extension to look at the software a few more days, before I buy it?

A: Yes, we will issue a 30 day extension to allow time to use the software, during this time we require ypu to read the Web Site and help files located inside of DDL to better understand what is required and to help you understand the software. In order to receive an extension, you will need to send us an email (frbjorklund@driversdailylog.com) requestion the 30 days extension, we will need the following infoermation in the email:
